Default Swapping 16" 1999 ram wheels and tires with 2003 17"

Can it be done. The lug pattern is the same, but the truck does not like the larger tire. Am I missing an adapter? there appears to be sufficient room. Bucks like crazy at 40mph I could just sell the wheels, and put back on the boring factory 16 steel wheels with new tires. The 2003 17 inch looked good.

I believe the lug is larger for the '03. The pattern is the same but the lug is larger, so the holes are slightly bigger on the newer rims. Loosen off your lug nuts and carefully tighten back down to make sure they're centered and see if that helps. Hopefully with any luck that'll do the trick.

I tried the first suggestion of the 2003 lugs, but everyone's closing down. I'm going to rotate them, and if it continues, I'll just not use them on my truck. Thanks

they should work fine. i put 20's on my 94 with a tire slighty smaller than the new oem wheels. i wanted my speedo correct.
