Default Top Speed Limiter

Okay guys, i have no idea on this matter....My 95 1500 5.2 liter has a speedo that reads 120 mph. It only goes up to 93 mph, 95 with the o/d on. I've heard about people takeing out there Speed limiter And getting up to about 140 mphbut i dont know if its in a chip? or what? I may sound stupid lol, but i would like to get a little more than 95 mph at 3 grand rpms...I appreciate it guys.

you plan on running low 13s in the 1320?

If not there is no reason to drive a full size truck over 90mph.

Im pretty sure most aftermarket tuners remove it. I know the Hypertech does and im pretty sure the Superchips does as well

I've got a 99 1500 5.2, with the same limiter as you. I couldn't go over 95 with o/d on or off. I bought a Superchip programmer, and now the limiter has been completely lifted. I personally have done 115 with o/d off at 4300 RPMs. I wouldn't try to push it much more than that. The truck was pretty stable, but knowing my tires are rated only at 100 mph kinda freaked me out. Just remember, be safe, these trucks aren't supposed to go that fast stock.

Planning on going to Germany and hit the autobon, because I think thats a little excessive for US highways. Let me know where ya live so I can read about your gruesome death.

I'm not saying you should be doin 140 mph around in a truck weavin through traffic, but i gotta say.. at times on the highway ill be crusing with traffic at 85mph. Hell, ive taken it to florida twice, and some of the highways down there, i was cruising at 90, 95 mph with a group of cars.. 2 being suvs and another pickup. The speed limit alone was 80. Now i know alot of highways, its not a great idea to be going that fast. But when i do, givin on a good highway, my truck rides like its driving much slower. Just as nice as my old trail blazer did and much better than any of my blazer's have.
