kerosene, fuel oil, diesel, gasoline are all just 'thin' grades of oil with limited or no lubricating properties.
i've done it, but like i said... use at your own risk.

Is there any hope for this engine? It has lost some power. My uncle is now complaining because he can't light up the tires anymore.

Your uncle should be happy he is lucky to drive it at all.30k for an oil change is crazy. That engine should be toast.Lighting the tires should be the last of his worries.

if the engine has lost power its not your fault.
anyone that goes 50k miles without an oil change is an idiot.
anyone lighting up the tires on an engine that just went 50k miles without an oil change is an idiot.

sry about the repost but Synthetic oil does a good job ouf removing light sludge buildup. Switch to synthetic and look at the color of the oil after bout 250 miles it will probably be darker than synthetic would normally be after 250 miles. rechange at about 500 then your engine should be cleaner. I guess this works good on engines that have not been completly neglected, but have just used conventional oil. From my experiance Mobil 1 is the best stuff and all that I use in any engine I have.

the water thing was a joke. thats why it was in parenthesis. i would hope that people would not do this. but anyway i would still do the flushing part with twice the oil. and drop the pan to see what type of sludge is on the pump
