will not start
I have a 99 dodge 1500 that cranks but will not start. While cranking i noticed a spark (arcing) from the coil wire to the coil. I replaced the coil, distributer, rotor, wires and plugs, plugs were wet with fuel when i removed them. Arcing went away, but still won't start.I am gettingspark at the plugs.Fuel press. is good at 45-50 psi. Unplugged MAP sensor, still nothing. Had a friend check it with a scanner.Only code was the 02 sensor, this code has been there, cat gutted. MAP sensor a little below normal voltage. Before this problem, there was a ticking noise when giving it some throttle. Starting fluid doesnt do anything. HELP
the ticking could have been the noise of the wires arcing. they'll do that.
just throwing a wild guess out there, check to see if your iac motor is opening when you try to start.
are you sure that you routed your wires correctly? or did it not start before you changed them?

No it wouldnt start before i change the wires. i double checked the wire, i know there installed correct. the truck is 180 miles away so i cant do anything until 1-6-07. just trying to get as many ideas as i can before i go work on it. could i have blown a fuse or relay when the arcing was happening and this not showing up on a scanner? because no codes are present is it more likely it is a mechanical problem? timing chain, dist. turned?
