Brake problem
I am doing my rear drum brakes and i was wondering about the placement of the parking brake lever; the right side it is in the back and the left side it is in the front. Do you still put the primary and secondary shoes on the same way on each side? So, on the right side, the parking brake lever connects to the secondary shoe (back) and the left side it connects to the primary (front)? And, should the drum spin freely after putting the new shoes on, because it is hitting the shoes and and the adjuster is all the way in. Please help, Thank you.
Bleed the brakes (at least in the rear). There's pressure on thecylinders that are keeping the shoes pressed out against the drums. Once you crack the bleeder to loosesome fluid, the shoes should retract some. Also ... did youhave the drums turned to true them up?Sounds like they might be warped.
ok, i think i need to bleed the one i am having problems with, but how do i go about bleeding the drum brakes, i have never done that before. Is the nut on the other side, in the back the bleeder?
