Default Tranny cooler

I heard some guys talking about having a heavy duty alternator and a tranny cooler if their truck was equipped with a factory trailer hitch. I have a factory trailer hitch on mine i believe, but how can you tell if the alternator is heavy duty and where is the tranny cooler located at? thanks

If it is the stock tranny cooler, it is often located to the side on the radiator on the driver side. In front of the radiator is usually the AC condensor. Aftermarket auxillary coolers are usually installed in front of that condensor, like mine (click the link in my sig for pics).

There is a lot of info already posted on trans coolers. Do a search and I bet you find some good stuff.

There would be a cooler between the radiator and A/C condenser. You would see one of the lines coming out off the side of the radiator and going to the front of the truck instead of both going back to the trans. There should also be a trans. temp.idiot lighton the dash to let you know if it gets overheated. On my model it was in the bottom of the heat & A/C control Switchs.
