torsion bars to raise front end?
Hello gents, I have a buddy with a z71 his truck was a little lower in the front and he took it to a garage and had the torsion bars turned upside down or something like that, and it made the front come up about 2 inches or so. Just wondering if it is possible for a 2nd gen ram and if so does it have unavoidable negative consequences? Thanks for you help fellas! Have a great weekend.
Ithink only chevy and fordlets youdo that. Im pretty sure that dodge did not make it so you can lift up the front with torsion bars inour truck,I could be wrong butI think its because we have a solid front axle and some fords and chevys use IFS
Asecond gen ram doesn't have Torsion Bars! (It's scary if you own one and don't know that!)
2nd gen rams use coil springs with a 4 link suspension. The two common ways to add lift are either coil spring spacers and/or longer springs.
Unfortunatly, once you go over 2 inches, you'll need to change some other items in your suspension, and if you lift it big, eventually you'll need to modify thesteering.
3rd gen 1500s use torsion bars, and can utilize modified torsion keys.

I just got the truck 2 weeks ago, and it is my first truck, so how the hell would I know if it had a torsion bar or not, but any ways thank you for your knowledge and advice.
