Default Cyl 4 misfire...expensive

Well here I am again with yet another costly fix. My CEL came on and went off and them came back on. On my way home for christmas I noticed my truck was loosing power and just not running like it should. I took it to a shop when i got to my hometown and it gave a code of Cyl 4 misfire. I THOUGHT oh that should be easy to fix...either sparkplug or wire... I went into the city, had some beers andmade a new friend with a guy that had a garage and he insisted on looking at it. He diagnosed a bad Exhaust Valve on at least 2 cylinders. I was bummed but told him to fix it. In the end I did have bad Valves... BUT my Heads were both cracked in 4 places. After all said and done a few other things needed fixed and a lot of money was spent. Wasnt a good Christmas needless to say.

I was very impressed with the Repair shop I was at and if anyone is in the Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada area make sure you go to North Side Auto... you wont be dissapointed. I live 5 hrs away and I will make the drive to go there to get my truck worked on, as long as it allows me too.

Are you getting the heavier duty aftermarket cast iron heads? I did, and I went with beefier valves. Truck runs like a raped ape, and I love it.

you'ld think that if the one who did the raping really did it good, the ape would probably limp away
