I wen to the local walmart to buy my LT tires and they are williny to sell me the tires but will not mount them because the sticker on the door reads P245 instead of LT245. they say they only do what the sticker calls for the tire to be. am i the only one with this problem or what

What a bunch of r-tards... LT carcasses are tougher than P metrics. Go to real tire store. I use Discount Tire (that's not an endorsement ... just a statement).
get the LT's... you might have to get them from somewhere else...

I second the Discount Tire suggestion. They're cheap and all the extras (lifetime rotation, balance, etc.) are included in the price. Very important if you're going with an all terrain or a mud tire. They're first come first serve so make sure you go first thing in the morning or you'll be waiting all day.
HiBalitmore, if your not into luggin' a lot of weight, try to look for a LT245/75-16 C load. Tougher carcess not not a harsh ride as the E load tire which is the most common for this size.
