Hi my managers 00 ram wont start.this morning andits not throwing any codes, full tank of gas, fuel pump kicks on when key is turned. and it cranks strong, but wont sputter or anything. What are some obvious things to check. I know fuel and spark, but is their anything to check first. truck ran fine when parked last night. its a 360 ...5.9 with auto. Thanks alot

1st turn the key to the run position and listen for the fuel pump... no sound, dead pump. if the pump's working, then check for the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. should be 49 psi +/- 5psi. if that's good then check the crank position sensor and the coil. one of those is probably causing the problem.

you should still check the pressure... the pump could be running but not building up enough pressure.
