Truck has rear ABS, but no worky...
Specs in Signature. Truck has rear ABS (build sheet says so...). but they don't work...
Should I care? The only place i have to test it is when it snows or ices... I slam on the brakes, and the entire truck slides... No pedal pulsating - No ABS actuion whatsoever. I dont know how the rear ABS system works... is it something malfunctioning? Should I even care? The ABS light comes on when I first start the truck, then goes off as normal. Please let me know if this is something I should be concerned about, and if anyone knows what might be wrong. Thank you!

i dont understand the rear abs thing either. ive got the abs light that comes on too.
the front brakes account for 70% of your stopping. so i imagine that when your front tires lock up and you start to slide, having abs in the back wouldnt do a damn thing. i dont know

i know ist not good but dirt roads can trip em off
the graded ones that is, really its for dry pavement situations and fishtail prevention, when the fronts lock the rears drag alil keeping it straighter in a full lock situation

All our trucks have at least rear ABS (aka RWAL). It's included because pickups are so light in the rear when unloaded. Makes it real easy to lock up the rears in this case. But when carrying a load, it's tougher to lock them up because of the added weight in the rear. You won't feel a pulsing when it activates ... just a sinking pedal and reduced braking ... because it operates through a pressure dump circuit ... basicly eliminating any braking in the rear upon activation. Pump em ... lightly.
