Default new owner!

Hey everyone, last wendesday, I bought my first Dodge truck. 2000 Dodge Ram 1500, reg cab, short bed (see sig)

Bought it off a guy who got it from an elderly man from Texas, so it has no rust anywhere on the frame or body. Has a brand new tranny in it,brand new tires, new exhuast (i want to put headers on it) and it needs a few odds and ends. I'm going to get pictures on as soon as I go out and get a digital camera.

Probably start looking into some mods (cowl hood, headers, back rack, toolbox some other crap.) Glad to finally have a dodge.

Just think If your truck was anatomically correct, you would just keep the GF around for the occasional nagging.............................

Haha, hey bamory, you member of a FD? Cheif or something? Around here only cheifs and asst. chiefs can have sirens..

But yea, the girlfriend likes the truck but hates that I buy mods and stuff for it. Oh well.

No not chief, Ohio allows us to use lights and sirens(except blue)and also lets our vehicles become certified emergency vehicles. I am also First Responder for EMS, which usually means I go direct with ALS to the scene, and I am a nurse by trade, we should be getting a rather large substation straight across the road from me where an old school used to be, so hopefully I don't have to run my truck so hard anymore. Right now I have a pumper about 1 minute out my door, and when the new building is built we should have a grass truck moved over here, will make responding much easier.

Oh cool. New york Vol. FFs can't have red or clear lights. EMS can have green lights around here.

I have 3 fire stations and 1 EMT station around here. Small town but spaced out. We have a ladder truck, 2 tankers, 2 pumpers and some fast resuce trucks.

Having the dodge really helped me get to the calls quicker than my other truck had, so I'm very happy with it and 100% more likely to buy another dodge.

Congrats and welcome. I'm just like you...in my first Dodge about 2 months ago now. I've loved it so far and this forum is great.

I'm thinking about adding Dynomax headers (to match my exhuast) along with maybe an intake and a cowl hood.
