I believe that the leaf springs on 3/4 tons are wider then the 1/2 tons.....i could be wrong. It can still be done im sure, but if it was me (im no expert) i would just get an Add-A-Leaf. I have one from skyjacker as well as 2" taller coils on my 1/2 and it works decent. (the front coils are no stiffer just longer) but the add-a-leaf will help your squating probelm. It wont make any other compents stronger nor will it be as hearty as a 3/4 ton but it wont ride near as ruff either (not that our trucks are caddys to begin with).

Just a Second option

Ya, I agree with ^^^^^. My AAL made a nice difference in how much the truck squats when I am towing or hauling a load.

The 3/4 springs are 3 inchs wide, the 1/2 ton is 2.5 wide. Use an add a leaf or an air bag kit. I put on an airlift airbag kit with a remote pump and in cab controls. Pump it up or down from your cab as you need it. Don't ride any different when air psi is low.

these cost a little more than AAL, but allow the stock springs to work normal, and then they catch the load after the truck sags an inch or two. (also, they have an option to fill that gap and allow no sag, but it stiffens the ride). they are also very very easy to install in place of the original rubber bump stops. AAL requires a little more work.

i own a 1/2 ton and am haveing the same problem, but i am haveing two leafs added on each side and, i need to change the shocks to counter the stiffness. I chose to go to a local spring shop, for 85 each side they willadd the leafs, all i have to do is remove them and re-install them. If i were to order them on line i would have to break the leafs apartthen the center pin and clamp and alignevery thing and i just donot want to do that, i would rather remove six bolt and let them do the work. the shop also will bent them to my needs so that is a plus for me. I can pay 65for two springs and do all the work or 200 for 4 springs nd have some one else do alot of hte work. i am 35 and worked on cars since 16 years of age. with 2 daughters and a wife i am not really into all the work on cars thing any more..

Good luck
