I have a 2001 Dodge Ram Sport with a 5.9L and I am wanting to try the Hypertech Programer III but not sure if the one that I have will work on my truck. The model number is 50008 and it says for a 2002-2003 with 5.2 and 5.9L engines. Have they changed with in one year on the programing for the engines? I spoke with a rep from Hypertech andhesaid it would not work becuase the box does not specify the year for my vehicle, but off the record he told me to give it a try because it might work. Has any one had any luck trying this? Any feed back would be great.

 

My friend tried this with the programmer I now own. and it didnt work for him at all. it poped up and gave him a message that his year of truck was not supported by the tuner. so he sold it to me for 250.

 

The tuner only works for what it says.. its not that they changed anything its when the tuner reads your VIN or computer it shows the year and they do this to cut down on people using them on muti cars, even though you cant even if you wanted to... i use to have a Hypertech III for my Dakota..

and honestly i should have went with a B&G pcm flash... alot better..
