Default plenum gasket replaced.. new problem

YAY!! i got the upper and lower intake gaskets replaced. NO MORE PING!! finally.. also replaced the water pump and thermostat.. w/ new gaskets.. so now all i hear is some tapping.. not sure if its the dist. but it soulds like its coming from valves... not only was the plenum gasket blown.. it was half gone.. there had to have been half a quart of oil in there where it wasnt supposed to be... will post some pics as soon as i figure out how to get them on here.. but this is my concern.. i took it out for a drive.. and when i put my foot on the gas.. i hear air.. lots of air from under the hood.. (i hear this while im driving).. it SOUNDS to me like its coming from the TB.. has the exact same 'hissing' sound.. i did take the tb off when i did this just to make more room .. and i replaced the gasket between the tb and the intake.. any ideas? ?

btw... steve05ram... thanks huge dude.. that post you put in for changing out the intake.. saved me HUGE.. and i learned alot from it.. i was nervous as hell about doing this.. but i got it all put back together right.. no left over bolts.. and i got all the sensors back on w/ no C.E. light.. im happy as a clam.. thanks again

If you find out what the sound is, let me in on it. I have tapping on occasion, which I suspect is a sticking lifter. I also hear a kind of hissing, which I believe to be a loose exhaust header.

ok.. the noise is still there. im almost POSITIVE its coming out of the TB.. it doesnt do it idling.. only when i am *** deep in the gas.. if i take off slow.. its not really there.. and im guessing a valve job and all that is in the future.. when i replaced the plenum gasket.. parts of it were actually missing.. i could stick my razor blade in where the gasket was supposed to be.. so im sure theres a bunch of crap in there that should be in there..

You may want to also verify that the gasket between the tb and the air cleaner is sealed tight. Any gaps will cause an air hissing sound that you are talking about.
