Hey All,
Wanted to get some suggestions on my truck. I have an 01 Single Cab 4x2 with the 5.2 in it.
Some days I feel like I have power, other days, I feel like I don't. For example, today I went to pass a truck, going way to slow, and I hit the gas (we were doing 45) and it never down shifted. Is this normal? I am use to it shifting out of overdrive and going into a lower gear for the power/acceleration range. Take the night before, I hit the gas pretty hard leaving work (bad day, working out fustration) and I was gone in a flash, spinning tires, etc. What is going on?
Also, my MPG has dropped from 15.2 to 12.8. All that is different is the air filter. I took out the puralator and put in a K&N. Ideas there?
I am trying to figure out where I can make power in the truck. It is stock as stock can be right now (minus the air filter) any ideas you can give me would be great!

Check out the search feature on this site, you will find ur answer. Whens the last time u tuned it up, (cleaned the TB, changed plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and cleaned the fuel injectors), are u getting any codes?

How many miles on the truck? I had this same problem 3 weeks ago. I had a friend tell me to change plugs and wires. Dropped a buck in it and still had a problem. It was coding misfire on cyl 3 6 & 7. Cat was clogged. I heard on here you can test it, by checking temp on cat. if the front is hotter than the back it is clogged, or the other way around. If Im wrong I hope someone gets this straight.
