Default Need help from tranny gurus

Ok, I've got problems. I re-assembled the tranny and put it back into the truck and filled it up with about 7 Qts of ATF +4.

It starts and runs fine in park. However as soon as I shift it out of park, into Reverse or Neutral it starts to sputter and want to die. I can hold it running by bumping the throttle up while in neutral, but as soon as I let off it bogs down and dies. When I put it into reverse it starts to back up for about half a second then bogs down.

The only thing I replaced in the tranny was the front band and the oil pump seal. I'm positive I've got those installed correctly. Could the CPS being a little bit off cause this problem? I may have not gotten that back in right..but I thought I did. Wouldn't that cause problems running regardless of what gear it's in?

Any other ideas? Check engine light hasn't come on.

had a simular problem when I had my trany out. after having the battery disconected for a couple of days the PCM has to re-learn itself. after a 1/2 hour of driving it was back to normal........

I would really like to believe that is the case, but I drove it around for about 15 min and as long as it stays above 1200 RPM it'll be ok, but dip below that and it sputters, knocks slightly and wants to die. Still acts perfectly normal in Park. No studder, no anything. Revs fine, but like I said, only in Park.

Still no CEL

Anyone else have any ideas?

Drove some more.. more symptoms:
When driving, the RPM will bounce around dramatically when decel (IE converter trying to lock up). When pedal pushed down it will clunk softly and resume normal behavior.

Seems to shift fine except for the 2-3 and 3-4 shift in which it will sometimes lightly clunk into gear.

I think I'm going to drop the pan and take a look in there, I'm afraid I may have bumped something off or reinstalled the valve body incorrectly.

Anyone other opinions more than welcome.

Crank Position Sensor, located on top of belhousing passenger side.

I ended up taking it in to a local shop, There were some other issues we found as well in addition to what I thought. Instead of rebuilding I decided to just have them put in a new tranny with some upgraded components. So, I'll know in about 3 hours if it was worth the money I spent...
