Default Front speakers!

Ok so when i got the truck from my dad the speakers worked fine. Well as a year or two went by evreytime my friend would get in the truck he would mess with the balance an say that one sides louder then the other. I never would notice it but he being into playing music an doing sound stuff always would bug me about it. Well one day i noticed the front speakers arnt even on anymore. So i guess there broken they never were played loud an i since then have changed out the stock radio to a cd player. So i was wondering if anyone has ever replaced the speaker in the front? Or maybe there is another fix for it.

It is possible that the speaker is blown. If you have the Infinity package, it is going to be a challenge to replace just one speaker and still have the system function properly. The factory speakers are 2 ohm and the majority of aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm. I just replaced all of my door speakers with Infinity Reference 6x9's in the front and 6.5" in the back. I ran all new wiring into the doors to my 4 channel amp I am in the process of installing.

Did you notice this after you changed out the headend unit? If you have the infinity system, with the tweeters in the pillars, these front door speakers are self-amplified. If this is the case, you need to be sureyou connected the power antenna lead from the new headend unit to the power wire for these amplifiers.I don't knowif the standard four-speaker audio system has self-amplifiedunits or not.

This started before i took the old radio out. I have the standerd package also. I think they are blown i was kinda hoping somone on here would have had a simalir case an a easy fix. If it is what i think though im just going to wait untill i get back home from Illonois. My friend is one of the installation guys back at the bestbuy at home an i can get him to let me know when a good deals in an get a new head unit an some cheap speakers. Also the good thing about him is hes a good guy an knows what hes doing when it comes to anything in a car so i know that im getting it done right an i could trust him. I have though about just replaceing the speackers but ive come accross a free flip down dvd player so i figuerd its time to get a better cd player as well an have it all installed at once.

I have an infinity system and left front speakers are not working anymore. They crackle once in awhile. I checked the back of the stereo connections, all fine. I took the door panel off and speakers and all connections are fine. Is it the amp head on the speaker that is bad? Where do I get replacement speakers for the infinity system? Thanks for any help.

That was me! The Stealership wants $239 each for replacement speakers! Ireplaced mine with a new pair of Pioneer's.

The amp is held onto the speaker with two 1/4" bolts, so all I had to do was Zip-Tie the amp to the backside of the new speaker and reinstall in the door.
