Default Tranny band adjustment

Hey all,

I was wondering how you are supposed to use a torque wrench to adjust the rear band on a 99' 1500 automaticwhen the adjustment "screw" is a square head. I need a square socket?

They make square sockets ... also torque wrenches with an open end (crow's foot) on it.

OK, I got the socket and set the bands according to spec., and now its slipping going from 1st to 2nd! It has never done this before. I didnt think the bands could have this kind of effect. And I believe I set them right. Any ideas? Oh and I called a dealer and told them the situation...they said they rarely have to set the bands. WTF? The book says to do it every fluid and filter service.
