Default 4WD noise

Just today, coming home from work I stuck the truck in 4wd...
I hear this scrapeing like noise... Not very loud, but loud enough to hear.

Its in the transfer case, and is resonating up through the 4wd shifter lever, when its in 4wd and I wiggle the lever around it will get louder...

It sounds as if somthing is just lightly rubbing somthing that is moving, Im pretty sure its never done it before.

Also, is it normal for there to be some gear whine when slowing down when your in 4WD low?

Thanks

I put mine in 4wd and no noise at all speeding or slowing down...so something must be wrong.

Check the center ball bearing on your double cardan joint, on your front drive shaft. If that ball goes dry, it makes a metal on metal rubbing type noise.

Good luck with your ride.
