I just bought a 97 Ram 1500 and was told that the mirror mounts are loose soI am failing the MD state inspection. Does anyone know how to tighten them? I know that this is a stupid question but the local mechanics can't figure out how to do it.

i took my mirror off and then took the little black cover off to find out that the screws that hold the mirror on are striped out so u might have my problem or they just might be lose just take the 3 bolts off and pop the mirror out
