im replacing a motor in a 1994 ram1500 5.9with a 1997 5.9 the intakes look slightly different.. extra vacuum lines and a line coming from the exhaust manifold on the 94 . will i have to switch intake and exhaust manifolds also? i have a haynes repair manual but it dose'nt show anything about it... any input would be great.... thanks

 

I believe they changed from EGR to non-EGR in '96.
I'm not sure what you'll have to do. Are you keeping the '94 PCM? I don't know if the computer looks for a signal for EGR. Someone around here should know, though.[8D]

yes they are different, swap them over to the new motor. I would also suggest putting on a new plenum gasket (felpro!!!) while your at it.
