Has anyone hooked a subwoofer up to the stock radio?
Just like the title says. I have a sub that I had in a previous truck and want to put it underneath the back seat in my 96. I already have the Infinity sound system that came with the truck. Is it possible to do this? I will buy a head unit eventually, but race season is going to start soon, and all of my money is going in my car.
I would spend the money to buy a headunit now so that way you can control the subwoofers and ****. I'm looking into setting a system up in my 2000 dodge ram regular cab.
All you have to do is go to a stereo shop or even walmart and look for a line to rca converter. If you are not familiar with stereos you may want to go to a stereo sop and ask the same question to them.

I know how to go about doing it. I was just wondering if anyone had done it and how it sounded. I'll just wait if it's going to sound like crap.
Well I did not do it to my ram but in my last car I did. I had a control on the amp the let me adjust the bass from under my seat with a ****. It sounded decent, not as good as a aftermarket unit but It did the trick for awhile. It was a stock infinity system. I say give it a shot if you dont like it you can always take it back out. If you are just running a sub or two just pull the fuse on it. If you are going to wire it up to the stock speakers then you would obviously need to rewire those. Just a thought.
