Default when they forget to reinstall the kick-down rod

so i too my 01 5.2 4x4 1500 to get a lil tranny work done about a month ago and i got it back the next day (tsb) when i get it back the tranny slips a lil and they said it will be finejust bring it back. so i took it back on this past thursdayand they said it will be ready saturday, keepin mind i put another 1000 miles onit. Today i go to the tranny shopto get a tool out of the truckand i am B Sing with a tech trainy and he tells me there was ano kick down rod on the trans and they must have forgoten it when i got i back the first time. I recall the tranny wouldn't go into passing gear at around 40 mph-ish. I keep a cool head and ask to see the manager and in a polite calm manner i talk and laugh and play MR. stupid and find out how my tranny got that way. They now admit they screwed up (Mr. stupid and Mr.polite) i ask what they plan on doing about it they told me it didn't hurt anything and they will just reinstall the rod and every thing is fine. So then istart to smarten up at a quick paceand they become short with me and ask me to wait in the waiting area and not in the garage.I am still trying to ask what if there is damage to the tranny how will i know and there stand isNo damage and refused to talk to me any more about it and started to ignore me. Withthe manager on one side of the counter and me on the other. Let us praise God for the man who invented the speaker phone on the nextel. I call my wife who gives me the number of her freinds husband who works at Aamco and on speaker i inform him of the situation and he tells me the traany is gone(burnt) and it needs rebuild and if the trans placec says anything different they are screwing you....In the end i am getting a rebuilt trans with a 3 year 36000 mile warrenty for free

can you believe the nearve

Wow man! What was the shop?
A few years back I had mine rebuilt at Cottman's. When I picked it up I found out they fired a guy for being intoxicated on the job. (The same guy that drove me home when I dropped it off.) My tranny had been a little hard sometimes to shift but didn't think too much of it. Last year I'm up on a trail and had the suspension all flexed and I couldn't get it in reverse hardly at all. I looked under and noticed the tranny looked moved. Turns out, the two bolts into the crossmember were gone. Not sheered but missing. Now, it's not something I normally look at under there but don't know why I missed that all the times under my truck. I can't guarantee it was that shop but those things don't just fall out on their own.
