5.9 R/T Intake Man
Can anybody tell me the difference between a 5.9R/T intake manifold and a regular stock manifold?
Ihad just bought a usedR/T man. to polish up/ cut/ match/ portand put a plenum fix on, and am wondering if some of this might already be done from the factory.
thanks

No such thing as an RT manifold.(hope you didnt pay too much) If your intake manifold has a plenum gasket under it then its a stock intake manifold. Commonly refered to as the beerbarrel or kegger. It has a low rpm powerband and falls on its face above 4000rpms. Cutting the runners and porting it outa bit will raise the powerband but not as much as the performance intake manifolds (M1 in both 2BBL & 4BBL with or without egr)
M1 manifolds have a powerband in the 2500-6500rpm range and without a higher stall torque convertor will reduce low rpm torque.

this is actually an intake off a 5.9 R/Twhich was then replaced by an M1.
cant believe that this wouldnt have been worked just a little bit from the factory.
thanks
