The light bar is designed to mount to "rain gutters" but since out trucks do not have "gutters" a rain gutter bracket is required to be attached. it required the drilling of 4 holes behind the weather stripping which was pretty simple and then attached the light bar to the bracket. heres a couple pics of the bracket, the wires(which are kind of sloppy coming off the light bar into the truck) and then a pic of my toggle switchs and another pic of the distribution block i used to supply power to the lights which was probably my favorite part of the install. it has a digital LED read out of voltage and red LED indicator lights to show when the circuit is blown. kinda cool

its been a while since i bought the light bar...but heres one just like it on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/KC-HiLites-Roof-...QQcmdZViewItem

Check your local state laws regarding the roof mounted lights. I know here in CT lights can't be mounted any higher than 42". I think its a $136 fine. You also get an "Inspection Required" warning, which means you have to get it fixed, go to DMV and have them inspect it to make sure you fixed it. If you don't have DMV check it, they cancel your registration.
Canceled registration=towed from the scene, plates confiscated. PITA.

no inspections required here in my great state of "good ole boy" georgia. and they can be roof mounted as long as one doesnt drive on public roads with them on. some states get a little more strict than that and require covers on them on public roads
