My engine compartment is a mess.... From mudding its just a coat of brown... Is there any way to restore that stuff to look a bit nicer? Other than a pressure washer of course.

 

Engine degreaser, a rag, and lots of time and elbow grease. Otherwise, pressure washer is good, just watch what you spray.

 

I would be carefull with engine degreaser
I got carried away spraying mine with it and removed the coating off the frame rails on passenger side. Ended up removing all the coating from firewall forward & painting it with POR15 cause it started to get surface rust almost immediately. Painting frame/suspension looks great but man it was a ton of work.
