Default Torque converter soilenoid

Does anyone know where the torque converter soilenoid is located inside the oil pan? I am having a problem with the truck going in and out of overdrive. Does anyone know what the cause of this could be? If the soilenoid was bad,...... would it throw a code? I'm new to the sight,...... so any info possible would be greatly appreciated!!

It will take us a little while to guess the year, model, eng, etc.

We'll get back to you.

Thanks.

Yeah too bad he didn't tell us what color it was or we'd know, right? All kidding aside, it is nice to know a bit more about your truck. The year would be awesome.
If I'm not mistaken, (and I should know, right?) on a 2000 gasser, the overdrive and lockup selenoids are on the passenger rear side of the valve body to the rear, just in front of the governor shift selenoid. You will have to remove that part to gain access to the OD stuff, and if memory serves me, the valve body must be removed to drop the wiring harness.
So you might as well remove the whole valve body...the wiring harness is a PITA. If you're gonna do this yourself, you need to have the emergency brake set too. But if you're not a swifty with trannies, pay someone.
While you're at it, have your tranny guy install a shift kit too. Oh and have them replace the check valve in your cooler lines and flush the cooler out as well.
Ain't I just chock full of information?

my truck was doing the same thing when towing, now it doesnt have any lockup at all. I got a 1740 code and after driving 30 minutes my overdrive shuts off.(overheating?) I beleiver my torque converter is shot. where cani get a good stock replacement? i am not gonna pay the tranny shop $1900 for a rebuild.

Mine is a 2001 Ram Offroad 5.9
