Default Ram 4x4 Wheel Bearing

Hi all, new member from the UK - new to DF and impressed with all I've read through in the short time. Just picked up a 98 Ram 1500 4x4 long bed.It needs a new drivers side wheel bearing which from the downloaded service manual seems relatively straight forward.Probably something relatively trivial to all you experience Ram guys, but the hub bearing bolts appear to have a splined head as opposed to flats as in the service manual - is this a standard fit in a socket or is a special socket needed ? Cheers for any advice, Steve

Good luck with your ride.

Dieseldemon is right, it is a 14mm 12pt. socket. Put a little locktite on the bolts when you re-install them. I had one work its way back out. 18 us dollars for a replacement. I have no idea how many Euros that is: )

Thanks guys for the advice. Parts are making their way over to me on this side of the pond as we speak, so hopefully will be with me by the end of the week and I can get the truck back on the road. Thanks again, Steve
