I'm sure the dodge really is a push button under the stick. The shifteris fake with simulated resistance.

my dodge is stick, my ford is the little dial, the dial is much easier but i prefer having the stick myself, although my dodge will not engage 4hi anymore, i just cant shift into it for some reason, when it warms up i'm going to check my linkage make sure its adjusted properly, but i also have to replace the rear-end first, bust a couple teeth off the pinion gear

Stick. From what I've heard it's a lot more reliable. I have friends that have push button setups and they don't seem to be quite as reliable. A friend has a 04 Chevy and I've seen it stick and to where the push button won't put it back in 2wd until you hit it several times. I don't have to deal with that crap in the Dodge. The push button is easier and faster but I'd much prefer having the stick.

Stick

My dads ford 4x4 has the dial and half the time it never engages 4x4 when you flip the switch so you still have to manualy lock the hubs.

and like a few other people said. at least with the stick if i put it in 4hi and it dont work i know its between the stick and TC. as to where with push button there to much electronic crap to deal with.
