No matter where i turn the heat selector, air only comes out of the defroster, the temperature works perfectly. I have been doing some searching andI think it is either a bad vacumm hose or a check valve.

Thoughts on where i should start?? Thanks guys..

I have the same problem on my RAM 3500. It changes over, but when it wants to.

It just started yesterday, I haven't had a chance to do anything yet. Good thing my defroster works with all the snow/ice coming to PA.

 

Seems to be a common problem, I don't know the first thing about fixing it but have seen several respond that it's a vacuum issue and not that big a deal to correct. Hopefully someone will chime in for ya.

i had the same problem and i found my leak...a peice of tube had gotten real brittle and just snaped in half...heres some pics, you can kind of tell which line is the new one by lookin for the one without mud...check that line...maybe your issue as well

i was having the same trouble,but mine was intermitant.would work fine for awhile that it would crap out.i bought another check valve and installed it but no go.one of the vacumn lines that pass thru the firewall go to a vacumn reserve.just for the hell of it i put the check valve on that line and woila,problem solved.that is the line without the check valve obviously.
