Default Transmission swap

I have a 1998 ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.9 L magnum with a automatic trans. Its got over 190,000 miles and I would like to swap it out with a NV3500 manual trans. I think it is possible but the only thing I worried about is the computer going to freak out because of the swap? has anyone had this problem?

You'll have to change out the PCM to a 98 manual model.

A 96 is different ... you swapped out a 46RH (complete hydraulic control) ... the 98 uses a 46RE (PCM controls 3-4 shift and TC lock-up). It's going to be wanting inputs from the tranny that are no longer available.
