Default AIR CLEANER

just put a universal chrome Air Cleaner on my 95 360....those of you who have them did you have to bend the center stud to get it to center or do they make an installation kit for the dodges? and also did you use some silicone or anything to seal the adapter to the intake manifold? the instructions didnt say to, but it didnt seem right to have the plastic on metal.

You need to bend an s-bolt.
There should be a rubber gasket that goes between the throttlebody and the base of the new air cleaner. Your stock setup should have also had that gasket, so just reuse it if the new air cleaner assembly did not come with one.

Read through that thread posted above, it has everything you need to know in it.

Hello Silver Dodge
So what did the Fastman and the 1.7's each do for you?
I want the absolute best milage I can get (when I want it) and the absolute best performance(within reason) I can get out of my 5.2. Also I better ask about the headers. Right now as I sit with perfect conditions at 65 or so I think I can get a little better than 20 MPG. I've gotten 19 bucking a stout wind on a 200 mile trip so thats not out of line. I have to really baby it to get that though. But I will get on it for a one or two block run if the conditions are right.
I don't advocate street racing, but Idon't hesitate to show a little of what a mopar is about with the youngsters when they pull up beside me and gas it just because I have decent sounding pipes.

Well, you can't have it both ways. If you want performance, after a point you will have to sacrifice mileage. No way around it. Power is made by increasing air and fuel. More fuel=less mpg. You need to decide first which is more important, and dedicate your mods to that route, otherwise you will be disappointed when a mod causes you to loss mpg, or increases your mpg, but kills your performance.

The fastman is an awesome mod for both though. I saw a 2 mpg increase, and throttle response was noticably better. 1.7's helped in low to mid range, but didn't help milage any. Shorty headers gave noticable gains in the high rpm's, but when you are in that range, you're not saving gas.

Dang, your getting 19mpg, I wouldnt complain to much then, the best I have gotten is 18mpg and that was once, my average is closer to 16mpg.
