i have a 96 dodge 1500. i noticed a while back the passing gear will not engage. the rpm will go up but the speed will not. after doing this for a while this week it started acting like it did not want to shift unless i let completely off the gas. then after a couple of days dealing with that i can't get it up to speed at all. i have already changed the transmission filter. i get a code of PO171. can anyone help?

 

P0171 = Bank 1 O2 lean.

O2 sensor (pre-cat) probably.

 

your kickdown band is prob worn maybe able to adjust but more likely replace band is about 30 bux labor is around 2-3 hundred
