Default 96 1500 4x4 ABS

I am trying to figure out which ABS system is installed on my 96 RAM 1500 4x4 Sport club cab. This model year came with RWAL or 4 wheel ABS as an option. My truck has the 4 wheel ABS option.

The Chrysler Factory service manuals refer to a Kelsey-Hayes system, either a EBC-5H or EBC-310. Does anyone know how I cna determine which model is install on my truck so I can make sure I get the correct manual for diagnosis?

Thanks,
Tim

Not sure on the exact model number off hand, but I have a spare ABS unit if you need one. I got it for my Ram, but realize it was different from the one for the 2001s....quite different actually.

Don't quote me but I think the EBC5-H would have two seperate, antilock modules. One for the front, and one for the rear, if you have 4 wheel ABS. The lines leave the mc, then go into the prop/metering/pressure valve (all one solid manifold type assembly with a loose, single wire connection in between the front and rear lines from the mc). Then from that combo valve, there would be a seperate front and rear line, each with their own antilock valve assembly. Then the lines would continue to the fronts, and to the rears.

The EBC-310 should be a one piece module that may be incorporated into the mc.

Hope that helps.

Good luck with your ride.
