Can a hypertech programmer be used on another vehicle if the original vehicle that it was used with is set back to the stock setting. Someone on ebay is selling a programmer and says that he set his truck back to stock before he traded it in, and now no longer needs the programmer and says that it will still work. Is this true or false.

TRUE.
but the hypertech model must be EXACTLY the right year for your truck.
i bought a used one and it worked just fine. (except that for some kind of ABS brake controller option that i don't seem to have i can't reprogram my speedo. possibly because i have rear wheel abs only and not 4 wheel abs ??? i don't know. hypertech reprograms timing, etc, and provides an alternative to death flash stock programming)

check here to find the exact part number you need. http://www.hypertech.com/productsearch.html
