Default front wheel hub question

i have a quick question for you guys. i have a 99 ram 1500 quad cab. the 4 wheel drive doesnt work. when i put it in the left front tire locks up. and also it pulss or wants to wander to that side. im assuming its the wheel hub/bearing??. and has this ever happened to you guys.... while driving on the highway for some reason the wheel lugs backed off on 3 of the studs the only thing holding my tire on was 2 nuts and it was vibrating like crazy . so i pulled over and tightened them. its the same wheel as the one with the bad hub but i dont see why it would make the lugs back off.. it happened 2 times and only does itabove 50... could maybe be vibration from it being bad and having some play in it??

the bearings are shot in that sides unit bearing. replace it before it comes apart while you are driving, and your wheel falls off. it happens, so fix it ASAP.

ok update:...... i replaced the hub and it doesnt wander and 4 wheel drive works going straight now, but it doesnt want to work on a turn... i can only turn a little bit until something binds and makes that wheel stop. i replaced the u joint on that side also today because it was shot... not even needle bearings left and 2 of the caps were cracked and not even there. any ideas on what could be making it bind like this in 4 wheel???

pull the front diff cover and makes sure the gears look ok. turn them by hand and see that all is well. pay attention to the bearings on the side that is binding.

check your brakes on that side, make sure the caliper is straight and tightened down properly.

on dry pavement, while trying to turn tightly in 4wd, there will be binding in the drivetrain because the power is split 50/50 front and rear.

yes im doing it on dry pavement.. i know itsshould run perfect on dry pavement but its like anylittle turn other than perfectly straight and it binds... i checked the other side and noticed that the u jiont on that side is also bad... has a lot of play but still has the caps and bearings in it not as bad as the drivers side. il change that this weekend and see where im at with it.
