Got into a front end collision couple weeks ago.. insurance company stalled for the complete 2 weeks before they told me that they had dropped me from full coverage back down to liablitity (and yet i was still paying the FULL coverage price -_-')

so it appears i will be paying for all of the parts and labor.

 

if u were un notified and still paying a set price for full coverage take them to court, that would be fraud i think...

how can your insurance just decide to not give you full coverage anymore? i could understand dropping you completely if you have a bad driving record, but changing your coverave just does not seem right,

 

Actually, it is VERY illegal for them to make any changes to your coverage without notifying you. In this instance (if it is as you say), they would have to send you a letter explaining their decision for changing your coverage and would need your signature confirming that you agreed. If you didn't send them your signature, they would have a time limit (# of days) before they would have to just drop you completely. In essence, they cannot legally change your coverage without your consent, especially if you were still paying the full price.

There is however, one instance which would allow them to do this...unpaid premiums.
