I'll pay the 1500 for the fastman's tranny, so long he pays that towards the next rebuild should it turn out to be a piece of crap. And someone still has to install it.
You can't install a transmission? [>:]

Good news, I sucked out 6 quarts of fluid from the dipstick holethendropped the pan. I replaced the filter and added 6 quarts of fluid. Held my breath crossed my fingers, low and behold it shifts like new.

Yipee! I'm going to get my new truck now!

Wow!

Very suprising, but very good to hear.

Just goes to show how very important it is to change the filter, obviously it was plugged.

Yeah I have the same problem with my 99. It was stick in first. Sometimes it will shift fine, sometimes it will hold to 4,000. If it hit it into Neutral and then back into D it will shift. I have a massive leak comming from the bell housing so I think it is eithr the torque converter or the pump seal. I just been too busy to look into it. I drive i daily the shift isn't rough it just stiks. Shoptold me I need a new tranny. I uess that seems right, troubleshooting as per the FSM points to the torque converter. The leak is soo bad I hate to keep pu tting fluid in because it just comes right out. If I park somewere I leave fluid behind. I pu Lucas in it too. It never got colder than 40 here so the fluid movs quick. Changing fluid does make it shift bettrer for a while. I found rebuil trannys for eight hundred so the guy who said 4-6000is on something, my new engine for a Montero cost only $4000 (1998 Montero) killed it mudriding. This s just my worktruck, so I abuse it. Lately though it has een more of a pain. I think I might just drop it out next week and bring the tranny to a shop. If they say its dead. I will just get a rebult one and a new converter.

I love how easy these dodge's are to work on. I have other problems but this is the biggest.
