Im going to replace it with an o2 sim.... What do you guys think about what I planned on doing??? Think it would sound good.... I've never gotten much input on the xpipe....

ive got a 97 with a flomaster 40 series that splits into a dual out the rear. n everybody says that its the baddest *** sounding truck around. its plenty loud. if u dont have cats ur probobly gunna end up with the cracking noise...n well we all kno that noise sounds like ****.

I'm looking to do the same thing to my 01 1500 5.2 but without all the noise, any suggestions for quiter mufflers?

cats don't have anything to do with the cracking noise. the cracking noise is caused by pressure differences. An H pipe or X pipe or any cross over will eliminate this crackling noise. If you run two different pipes without any connection you'll get the crackling noise. But once you connect them somplace with an h pipe or x pipe, it will help equalize the pressure and not cause the crackling.

About the x pipe....i've heard great things about them, but i heard they make your exhaust sound more like an indy car then a muscle car.
