maybe. there are 2 different models behind te 5.2/5.9 based on year. 46RH (hydraulic) and 46RE (electronic). you need to stay with whatever model is in our truck. if you don't see model number stampings, the presence of a couple of extra electric connectors probably ID the RE. also if you remove the pan, you will see an internal wiring harness inside the RE. ya'll correct me where i'm wrong.

You're right ... mostly. You just gave more information than was asked for. The 318 and the 360 came with the same tranny (46RX) ... the X only changed with model year. I'm almost certain that the RH came in the 95's. I'm pretty sure you can install a 47RX also ... even better choice.

Check this out: http://www.transmissioncenter.net/SwapInformation.htm

Near the bottom of the page they say:

2006 - At this time we are working on ways to control RWD Dodge 44 / 46 / 48RE type electronic transmissions with an electronic governor without a computer. Stay tuned.

If they can pull it off, we'll be able to use 46RE's in trucks that came with 46RH's ... pretty cool.

And along with that, look at the wiring harnessconnector on the drivers side of the transmission just beside the linkage, some a 2 pin connectors and some are 3 pin. Its the little things in the end that can ruin a good tranny swap.
