Funny smell when a/c "ON" at start
Hi everybody, can anyone help me with this problem?
Since I bought my truck about 2½ months ago, everytime I turn on the a/c, I get this weird smell like water that's been sitting in for a lng time and humidity all together. I kind'a goes away after a couple of minutes or is just me getting used to the smell.
Any how, I'm thinking is the condensator's drain hose that's plugged, the only problem that I see that this can not be, is that I see water dripping from that hose after the truck has been parked.
I'm very consfused, anyone can tell me how to fix this?
Or lead me to a place where I can tear appart something to get to the cause?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks...

You've got mildew growing on the evaporator coils (or in the vicinity). You can pull the dash then open up the air distribution box and clean everything out.
The drain may still be partially plugged and allowing water to sit in there.

You can get a Service Manual here: http://www.neonix.org/nero/files/2001ramsrvcmanual.zip
It's for the 2001 Ram but most things are the same.
