Default plenum problem

Ihave heard a lot about these plenum gaskets going bad. I noticed that i have been using an excessive amount of oil.I was wondering if there was an easy way to know for sure if the gasket is bad or not. like what other things would i notice other than the oil use.

the easiest way to tell for sure is to look into your throttle body. if you see oil pooled up in the corners then it is bad. also you might get pinging. i just had mine replaced 2 weeks ago. and now it doesnt ping at all.

look down the TB with a flashlight and see if you see oil puddling. That is a sign.

I noticed you are new to the forum as well. You will find a ton of info on this if you search the forum for "plenum". It appears that nearly all of these trucks have the problem. You will find some great info here from guys way more competent than I am but not likely to repost everything.
