I found this intake on ebay and it doesn't seem like too bad of a deal.

one of the best properties of aluminum is its ability to transfer heat.. thats why your rad. is made out of it.. and thast why K&N FIPK is made out of ABS plastic.. lower heat transfer characteristics.. although the price is something you cant beat.. remember.. you get what you pay for.. you should get better air flow .. but the cold air factor wont be as good as an FIPK

just food for thought..

True. I figured whichever way I go I want to build a box around the filter and use the fenderwell duct to route the air into it.

You could but either way with the filter being open under the hood you are still gonna suck up hot air.

I have that same intake on my truck I think i got it from the same guy on ebay. It works well, but like someone said you get what you pay for so it's no high end intake. It was rough gettin it on cause it didn't fit well, it was a little tall, and the bolt that they give you is too tall so i had to cut part of it down and use a washer to space the nut up. For that price you can't beat it but if I knew what I was getting before I bought it I would've spent a little more and gotten a better one.
