I give up.
I tried all day yesterday to get my damn crank sensor off, but as usual everything thats supposed to be relatively simple ends up being too hard. Mine has allen headed bolts holding it on and theres some damn tube that goes from the exhuastmanifold right across the heads of the bolts so its a pain to get to. I can't go from the bottom cuz my exhaust is in the way and i'd have to take it all down to even get to it which is a job all in itself. So I give up. If anybody is ever in the southwest missouri area then let me know and i'll buy you lunch.
all you have to do is put a 3" body lift on your truck and shazam! its totally easy to get to.
if not then thats gunna be a *itch to get out.
im in south east missouriif u still want to buy me lunch

I had that same feeling with that same year and engine. The tube going from the exhaust to the EGR and the mounting bracket for the tranny fill are in JUST the right places. I ended up removing the bell housing bolt that holds the tranny fill and pushing it aside then used the appropriate sized allen socket on a wobble and extension. Came right out from the top. I used a magnet on the allen to hold the bolts and finger startedwhen I reinstalled. A mirror is a lot of help on this one too.
