idle low
I took off my throttle body to remove a busted screw (long story). after reinstalling the tb, my idle has been jumping all over the place, and cutting off. just wondering if it usually finds the idle itself, or what needs to be done with it. i double checked all my connections, and they're good. any suggestions? thanks.
mine is doing the same thing i think read my post below and tell me idf its doing the same. i will be taking mine to the dealer in the morning so if its doing the same i will be able to help you out. when you say rpm's are jumping all over is it like jumping between 500-1500 and then cutting off. here is what i posted today
hello so this is what is going on. it was for about 3 weeks after driving it when i would come to a stop and put in park the rmp's seemed to be high well they where thy would stay at 1500 in park.
now after being parked for 2 weeks i got in and drove yesterday no problem. today when i got in when i went to stop at a light the rmps would jump from 1500 to 500 and then eventually turn off. this happened about 10 times. this also happened when i would back upout of the parking space.
so thishas been going on now for about half a day and on the way home everything fine again and when i parked it rpms back up at 1500 if i taped at the gas it would level off back at 500. I'm taking it inthe morning to have it checked I'm sure its a sensor but if anyone has had this happen let me know this willlet me know. also no check engine light.
thanks guys.

the idle air controller, IAC, is responsible for the idle. it mounts on the back of the TB with 2 torx screws, and has an electrical connector. it can be replaced for about $45. some people report that a good cleaning of it and the well in the TB where the plunger goes in, might fix it. if you didn't clean the TB real good while you had it off, i'd recommend you pull it back off and give it a good cleaning with carb cleaner and toothbrush and finger in the IAC well. don't forget the oring around the IAC. you might can clean your old one and reset the computer. i'd just replace it and be done with it. here's how to fix it.
