bad torque converter..?

Default bad torque converter..?

does anyone know how much a torque converter cost's for a 98 ram 5.2 liter auto? im pretty sure mine just took a dump....cuz im hearing a grinding noise when i shift it into gear from park or neutral, esspeacially in reverse i hear a grinding noise and i feel the truck flutter, then it wants to stall out, and also how much do you think i should look at paying for labor? thank's!!

yo can get one at oreillys for about 170 or at the dealer for 300

Sounds like you need more that a torque converter to me....If you are hearing grinding sounds.

A bad converter is bad in neutral as well as the driven ranges. You've got bigger fish to fry.

thanks for the info! yes it makes a grinding noise when shifting to drive from nuetral, and sometimes when i come to a stop i can hear it at idle in gear, oh and reverse is awful!i guess im gonna have to take out a loan for the transmission pirates....
