Default Spots all over my truck.. HELP!!

Yesterday I bought a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 from a dealership. I noticed spots all over it before I bought it and the dealer was like "Don't worry about that.. We will wash it with soap and water and if it don't come out, then we will do an Acid Wash on it and it will all come out." Well, the soap and water wash didn't take away the spots, and I really don't feel like driving an hour and a half on Monday to get an Acid Wash. The spots are on the paint, and on my windows. I used Windex on the windows and it didn't take the spots off, so what is this stuff? Acid Rain? Also, where can I buy some stuff to take the spots off myself so I don't have to drive all that way? Thanks!!

Have you tried to clean the paint with Mequiars paint cleaner...? Maybe buy an oribital buffer to get it in there deep. Do you have any pictures of the spots?

I have Meguires Step 2 Polish and Meguires Step 3 Polish and then I have Meguires Deep Wax.. I just put Step 2 Polish on it and it seems to have helped it a lot. I am about to put step 3 on, and then put a coat of wax on it so see if it makes it better. If not, I will use some of the Paint Cleaner. I don't have any pictures right now, but I will later today.

Clay magic also does a great job on those spot also. For the windows, if its organic, try some 99% Isopropyl Alcohol. Its great stuff but bad for the hands, works real well on burned rubber and tar also, just be careful it does strip wax.

Do this, go out and buy a clay bar kit. Meguiar's makes one. It should take care of anything that is on your paint. After doing that try out 5 Star Shine to protect your paint. We're a new sponsor to dodgeforum. Here is a link to info:

I had something similar on mine from driving across Canada. I had tried everything without any of it going away. I went to a body shop and they told me to try a clay bar. It did work. took all of it away. I used the Mothers Clay Bar kit. I then used a good quality wax, two coats. It made a huge difference. Good luck man.

How does the clay bar system work? Does it take forever to do?

the car apparently was sitting on the lot too long and they didn't properly wipe the cars down, so the calcium and deposits in the water burned into your top clearcoat. Acid Wash is the best choice, and you should have them do this as it will make your paint and windows clear as a bell. Acid Wash is safe, so you don't have to worry at all. This will guarantee that you have no halos or ANY remnents like you may if you don't do it.

if the dealer will take care of it, drive to where ever they tell you to. an hour and a half drive each way is better than scrubbing it yourself. also, if it doesnt work, they will have to keep dealing with it rather than you.
