has anyone had to replace a fuel pump in 97 dodge ram 1500 5.9? what kind of money are we talking to do this? also, engine chatter under load, what could it be?

 

what kind of money are you talking to replace fuel pump in 97 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4? Mine's humming and was told once they start humming it's not long before they go.

 

I replaced mine in my 97 but it is the 5.2 (should be the same pump) and the fuel pump was around 300 at Oriely's or Autozone...can't remeber which.

It's part of the fuel pump module.

 

I bought my fuel pump direct from the dealer last summer for $250. Aftermarket they were running around $200.

 

Where is the fuel pump module? Inside the fuel tank?

 

fuel filter / pressure regulator sits on the pump in the tank yes. -

I had just recently purchased one, and actually going to pick it up after i finish this post...

cost me $467.00Can for the pump for the 121L tank.
