Fuel sync
I just installed a Hughes HER1828 cam. Specs are 270/280 adv. , 218/228 @.050 and .544 lift. I had the stealership set the fuel sync @ +3. Does anyone know if this would cause a problem. I am getting a "too rich" code on the scanner. I sent the pcm off to B&G, butwas wondering if the sync might be the culprit.
0-1degree advis where itshould be bouncingbetween when the fuel sync isset correctly. 3deg adv or retardedwill affect performance a fair bit. I had mine off -3 to -4 degrees with my first cam and it was a slug till I set the sync signal to 0deg.
Thanks. The whole fuel sync thing is a vague subject. All of the info out there seems to be conflicting.
Indy-what were the specs on your first cam? I think I may have seen on your site that you were running the same cam (her1828)for a while.

Yes& no
The first cam back in 03 was the MP RT+10 in my mild 360.Idid havea her18/28 to go in my 408 butgot rid of it before all the machine work was finished. Went with a bit bigger custom Comp grind, 288/292 (236/242 .050) 580/577lift on a 114 instead.
